Conducting Inspections

Conducting inspections on the app has been made a simple and efficient as possible. This page serves as a guide on the features and tips for conducting inspections.

Starting An Inspection

An inspection can be started from the app homepage by selecting the desired template you would like to use for your inspections. If not templates appear here you will need to assign a template to the inspector account via the dashboard.

Edit An Inspection

If revisions are required to an inspection, you can select the inspection you wish to modify by pressing on the row, or using the dropdown menu and selecting "Edit Report".

Report Menu

From the report list, the dropdown menu can be accessed from the right of any saved report. The report menu houses various options to control your report, giving you the ability to edit a report, upload to the server to be processed (this will create the PDF document), Send Agreements, View a signed agreement, email the report to a client, preview the report PDF document, and delete a report from the app if it is no long required.

Conduction An Inspection

Inspection Agreement

For new reports if the option to send agreements has been enabled for the template, you will be prompted to send a pre-inspection agreement. This option can be skipped if required from the menu in the top right on phones, or selecting skip agreement on tablets. If the agreement is to be sent, all details are required to be entered except the phone number, which is options. Once the details are added you can send the agreement using the menu in the top right on phones, or select send agreement in the top right on tablets.

Once an agreement is sent the report will save and show the status of the agreement on the report row. The report status will update automatically when the agreement is sent, viewed by the client, signed or declined. The report status will also update when opening the app.

Once the contract has been signed and you have previewed the inspection agreement document, you are then ready to conduct the inspection.

Inspection Details

You will be presented with the inspection details page when starting an inspection that does not utilise pre-inspection agreements or if the agreement was skipped. Inspection details captures purtinent information relevant to the inspection and depending on the template settings, may or may not be visible on the report.

Required fields for the inspection details are the weather, building type, inspection address, client name and client email. Once these details are added you can continue to the inspection template. The report can be added later on to add additional report details if required.

Inspection Template

The inspection template is a series of question arranged that should be arranged in a logical order so you can conduct your inspection in an efficient flow.

Marking Deatures as Complete

This is more of a fomality for you to keep up with the features you have completed, but if you would like to mark a feature as complete you can swipe the feature row to the right which will expose a check option.

Hiding a Feature

If you would like to hide a feature from your report document, you can swip the feature row to the left, which will expose the option to hide a row. Doing this option a second time will make th feature visible on your report. It is worth noting that to save time, you can simply leave features unanswered and they will be excluded from the document. The exception to this are status items which will always show unless you explicitly hide them from your report.

Changing Feature Status Items

Double pressing a report status item is a shortcut to mark it as not applicable. For all other status types, you can edit them from the feature form.

Comments

The comment editor allows you to type comments for a feature, you also have the option to generate an AI defect statement, or add a comment from your comment library or our library of provided defect statements. The option to save the entered text as a comment template is also possible from the editor.

Gallery

The photo gallery allows you to add up to 6 photos to a feature, these will appear on the report document and can provide an alterative way to emphasise a feautre or defect in your inspection, we also provide a comprehensive image editor which is explained below.

Photo Editor

Once you have photos added to th feature gallery, you have the ability to edit those images, annotating them with arrows, lines, drawing overlay shapes and redacting information (like a number plate for example). To access the photo editor simply press on the image preview which will open a menu with the option to edit the image. The same menu can be used to remove edits.
